This month, November, is what I call 'A Season of Thanks'. A time to be thankful and to look around and see the last of Fall until next year. A time to sit down around the T.V. to watch football, go to the Rock (a place in our neighborhood that has a gorgeous view!), or take a nature hike through the woods. A time to gather around the table and celebrate Thanksgiving with family and eat delicious food.
We have many things to be thankful for such as a family, a house, clean water, nutritious food, good health, and our Saviour Jesus Christ. I think Thanksgiving is a foreshadow, so to speak, to Christmas. Christmas celebrates Jesus' birth and God's Plan to save the world. As we enter into this Christmas season, be reminded of what we are truly thankful for and who we celebrate, Jesus.
God Bless,
Giann

Thanksgiving with the Families
Like last year, we went South, to celebrate Thanksgiving with both sides of the families.
We made memories and ate some wonderful food.
Day One:
When we arrived, my brother went straight to the rabbit my Grandma has as a pet. Her name is Jill. She had Jack........I think he ran away.
Anyway, while he bonded with her, my Dad, his Mom, my Mom, her Mom, and I played dominoes. (Wow! Thats alot of moms.)
Day Two: No Pictures. Sorry!
Day Three: We took my Grandpa out to eat at......
his favorite place.
Apparently, Lousiana is very cautious about Children 10 and under. This could have been taken the wrong way if it weren't for the food.
After that, we headed back to the house where Jason bonded with Beau, the dog.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We came back to Grandma's and visted with some of our cousins. Grandma and Jon took to the dance floor.
You can tell they were bored amused.
Jason, Jon, Jennifer, and Me
The Turkey! Yum!
Mark and Cheryl's:
Sophie and Nanny
Caanan and Sophie
The Grandkids with Nanny
When it got dark we built a fire and roasted marshmellows. Yum!!
Noah roasting marshmellows
He got upset because they burned so.......
He then put them into the fire to well, um, burn some more.
My Dad enjoyed eating s'mores
and so did Jason and Hayley.
We made memories, ate some good food, and enjoyed visiting with family.
On our way back we stopped to take a break and saw a train.
It was a time to be thankful, even for Satan the Squirrel who happens to be turned into stone from the Witch of Narnia dead. :)
HIS Mercies Are New Every Morning
Background Story:
Having some trouble with my literary essay, I asked a few people to help me and only 2 people actually decided to do so. So, I texted the 2 people back and forth for about an hour trying to get information. The first person I texted had not even started her paper yet. (Note: the paper was due in 3 days). She did not help me and neither did the other person. ( Clarification: They actually Did help me but not in that moment in the way I wanted them to.) The other person did have his paper finished, I must add. But he, I think, thought I was out of it and he would not tell me what I needed to know. Still not getting what I needed, he, I think, perceded to get fed up with me and tell me that I should have written the paper a week ago. He also told me that " giann it doesn't matter if you can write a paper in 3 days... thats not the point.......... your paper wont be near as good as it could be if you try and write it in 3 days". I don't know what he thought of me then, he might have been fed up with me for all I know but he had a good point. :)
This escapade reminded of something the next day. He may be fed up with me but I know My GOD isn't. HIS mercies are new every morning. If this doesn't make sense to you, thats okay. I don't think it will make sense to anyone but me. And I'm okay with that. :)
The truth to take away from this post is not only to do your work ahead of time but, to remember that GOD's mercies are new every morning.
