Thursday's Thoughts

"True humility, Christian humility, should prompt us to leave our "comfort zone" for the benefit and blessing of others. Our Lord left the comforts of heaven and came to suffer here on earth, in order to obey His Father's will and to promote His Father's interests. Many of us tend to withdraw into the safety and comfort of our "comfort zone"- our place of comfort, security, and ease - rather than to venture out into deeper waters, for the benefit of others. We seek to hide behind our strengths, when God may choose to manifest His power through our weaknesses (2 Corinthians 12:8-10). In slightly different terms, we can see from our text that God may call us out of our comfort and ease into suffering for the sake of the gospel and our Christian brothers and sisters. The path of suffering which our Lord humbly chose to walk (to the glory of the Father) makes any suffering on our part seem pathetic in comparison (for emphasize)."
